College students often struggle to go on dates while at school because very few of us actually have money. But trying more affordable date ideas could be just as fun without breaking the bank.

1. Go outside
If your school has an Arboretum or park near it, this is the perfect opportunity to visit it. You can spend some much needed time outside to unwind and bond with your significant other. If your college doesn't have a park near it then pick a nice day to sit outside on a park bench together. Couples on park benches are rom-com movie staples so it must be romantic.

2. Dining hall dinner date
Going out for lunch or dinner at the dining hall instead of going out to eat at a restaurant
allows you to use meal points instead of money out of
your pocket. Not to mention, dining halls are within walking distance and you don't even have to tip or anything.

3. Have a movie night
Try staying in for a movie night with bae instead of going out to the movies. Going to movie theaters can be so expensive between the tickets and the popcorns and the sodas. Skip all those costs and opt for microwavable movie theater butter popcorn instead. Plus cuddling up on the couch is so much better than sitting in old movie theater seats.

4. Cook dinner together
What's better than a home-cooked meal? Potentially a lot of things actually, depending on how good you and your bf or gf are at cooking. But fingers crossed you make something edible! Cooking together is cheaper than a restaurant and lets you have fun doing an activity together. If your cooking skills are sub-par, just make sure you have a back-up plan. I recommend microwaveable pizza rolls.

5. Game night
Maybe team up with some other couples, or keep it just the two of you, grab some cards and a board game or two and go at it! A little competition between you and your significant other could be fun. Bonus points if you have any xbox or wii games to take game night to another level.
