College relationships can make it challenging to balance work and fun, but it's important to remember why you're in college in the first place. It's all too easy to get caught up in the beginnings of a new relationship and neglect studying for exams and completing important assignments.

If you're just starting a relationship, try not to spend all of your time with your significant other. Not only is it unhealthy, but your grades will also probably suffer. If you're a very scheduled person, you can jump this hurdle by scheduling mandated study time for each class. But if you like keeping a more flexible schedule, then just try to stay mindful of how much time you're investing into the relationship versus your studies.
If at all possible, try to hang out with your boyfriend or girlfriend before scheduled events in your day. Like before class or before a meeting. That way you know you won't end up accidentally spending hours just hanging out. You'll need to leave at a specific time to make it to your other obligations.

But you don't always have to keep school and your significant other separate. If you're the kind of person who can do work with other people, then try having study dates. It's even better if you have a class together and can collaborate. But even just working on your own assignments can be a fun way to spend time together.
All in all, college relationships are really fun, but it's important to maintain balance and make sure you don't forget why you came to university in the first place. If your relationship is negatively affecting your GPA then you're doing something wrong.
